Sling out your stuffy suits!
Corinne's Blog By Corinne on 22/07/2008
Now's here's a topic for the Frock Forum! (or me, Rae and Carol in the Princess Royal of a Friday lunch time!)

Should we dress up in the office? We're not the best folk (:-)) to ask, as we never do anything but! There are always new styles to tempt us, deliveries to QC, evening outfits to buy - but what about you girls not in the rag trade?

I've got loads of friends who work in offices and a lot of them feel kinda-shy about dressing up - b ...

Frocks 8, Shoes 5 (but one pair was a present!) Madeiran Storm Petrels 0
Corinne's Blog By Corinne on 13/07/2008
Goodness me! I've been back a few weeks now, and I've not done a proper blog! That said Rachel said I might of well have not bothered as I've spent SO much time on the phone since I've been back!

Well remember when I said that I wasn't going to be wearing my maxi dress much in the Scilly Isles? Well by day two, it was blisteringly hot, so I went down to the dear little internet café in Hughstown on St Mary's and actually ordered one from Frock! It's SO amazing - the sands are white, the sea is that lovely light-aqua shade, and yet it is the UK! - All good things like cream teas and red phone boxes are in abundance!

Have you felt the Benefit?
Rachel's Blog By Rachel on 09/07/2008
Benefit has come to town! Yes, all of us in Frock towers were very excited when we found out that Benefit were opening their pink doors in Farnham this summer. The San Francisco beauty boutique is taking the UK by storm and we can’t get enough of their gorgeous goodies.

Now I know where Corinne is spending her lunch hour!…I popped into the store today to see the girls and could have spent all afternoon being pampered. The bright, pink, 50s inspired store is amass with an array of beautiful products with wonderful nam ...

A Sneak Preview of the Autumn Collection...
Rachel's Blog By Rachel on 02/07/2008
In fashion we are always looking forward to the next season – in fact next month I will be off to the shows to look for next summer’s collection! (seems crazy doesn’t it when we have only just got our summer of 2008?!) Anyway, here at Frock we can’t wait for the Autumn styles to arrive. I have discovered three new labels for the new season and there are of course our old favourites.

I’m so pleased to be welcoming one of my ...

Birthday Butterflies!
Corinne's Blog By Corinne on 18/06/2008
When I used to work in the gallery (over a year ago now!) I always used to book my birthday off - you know, it's just such an absolute nightmare if you have a dull day at work on the best day of the year (June 5th!). This year and last have been a complete, absolute revelation, thanks to the girls in the Frock office.

First of all the weather was stunning, wasn't it? DB (Dearly Beloved for you newbies!) did my bucks fizz-and-smoked-salmon-and-scrambled-eggs-in-bed and PRESENTS as usual and I lolled into work a little bit late - well that day it was allowed! Now in a boring old office you might have a cake at half past 4. Not at Frock! Rae and Carol had got together a WHOLE table ...

A white wedding! ... and that's just the guests!
Rachel's Blog By Rachel on 12/06/2008
Corinne’s blog this week got me thinking…her choice of frock for Sophs’ nuptials would be seen by some to be a big no-no in terms of wedding etiquette…so the burning question is ‘Is it still a faux-pas to wear white (let’s include off white and cream too) to a wedding?’

These days some traditions have gone out the window and fashions certainly have changed with a bit more of an 'anything goes' attitude. Fifteen yea ...

Four weddings and ... another wedding!
Corinne's Blog By Corinne on 11/06/2008
It is a truth universally acknowledged that I seem to be invited to more and more weddings every year! This year I have to go to 5 (yes really!) One as bridesmaid (which at least helps on the 'what-to-wear' front!). Now, weddings really are a minefield - after all, you don't want to choose something that makes you stand out on the wedding photos for years to come - but hey - it's not your fault if you're the only one there with taste!

Now in one of our Frock corporate-heads-up-blue-sky-thinking-sessions in Café Rouge the other night, we realised we all had the same problem. Carol loves hats - but she doesn't dare go overboard at weddings, Rae Rae likes to cust ...

Frocks and feathers!
Rachel's Blog By Rachel on 09/06/2008
Frocks and Feathers….

Having braved the M1 last Friday I arrived in the picturesque, northern town of Beverly for the Yorkshire Nations Polo Cup! The polo fans were out in force, despite the rain, for Ladies’ Day and the fashions didn’t disappoint with all the glamour and pomp befitting of the polo event of the season. Ladies exchanged their hats for ball dresses for the Feather Ball later in the evening and were entertained by the young ‘Billy Elliot’ and his troop and fantastic violinists flown in especially from Dubai. Feathers adorned the tables and of course the ladies' hair!&l ...

Has it rained every Sunday this month?...
Corinne's Blog By Corinne on 26/05/2008
Has it rained every Sunday this month?. DB has decided that we're going to share his parent’s little cottage on the Scilly Isles for a week in June, which of course will involve some quite speedy wardrobe surgery!!!  A lot of the frocks I've bought will do for our later trip to dear old Sardinia in August - but I can't really see myself in a billowing maxi-dress as we lurk on a cliff waiting for the Madeiran storm-petrel to fly in and start to nest! Similarly, I'm saving the crisp whites for July - so all I can say is thank GOODNESS for this season's staple, the fitted mini jacket.

A gallery, a park and a kite...
Corinne's Blog By Corinne on 20/05/2008
Isn't it amazing how the weather gets us all excited? As I write today I'm gazing out of my window (Carrie style!) onto a windy and rainy Putney High Street. Last weekend seems like a distant dream!

Now with my fair skin, here's a Corinne Top Tip. If you want to eschew (bless you!!!!) the hot sun, one of my favourite tricks is to go to an art gallery. They are literally empty on a very sunny weekend, and also cool and fresh as well. Saturday was great, so after a late breakfast and croissants, I dropped DB off for practice, grabbed Portia and off we headed to the Tate - the original one - and caught my 'discovery' Peter Doig. His divine coloured canva ...
