Thursday brought me and my fantastic team to The Royal Garden Hotel Kensington for the Startups Awards 2008. With such a big choice, it was a struggle to know what to wear but I couldn't resist the ‘Belle Dress’ from my favourite new supplier Darling. The burgundy taffeta with embroidered dots was perfect – sophisticated but striking and I had lots of compliments. We were up for Business Plan of the Year and the day started with a lovely champagne reception. The awards were hosted by Sky news presenter Adrienne Lawler who tickled us with some very amusing anecdotes! We were sat on a table with the fab guys from

It’s that time of year when I don my flat shoes to scour the Pure exhibition at Olympia; the London womenswear fashion trade show. Held every February and August, Pure showcases all that is best in British fashion, footwear and accessories as well as labels from the fashion centres of Europe. As you know, we at Frock are always on the look out for new and exciting brands and there were lots to see at Pure. Many brands were showing their Spring/Summer 09 collections for the first time, so it was a good chance for me to get a good feel for the next new season and plan the Frock trends. From Olympia I headed over to Margin in Soho, the show for young, up and coming designers. There was a fantastic mix of product and I sp ...

Benefit has come to town! Yes, all of us in Frock towers were very excited when we found out that Benefit were opening their pink doors in Farnham this summer. The San Francisco beauty boutique is taking the UK by storm and we can’t get enough of their gorgeous goodies.
Now I know where Corinne is spending her lunch hour!…I popped into the store today to see the girls and could have spent all afternoon being pampered. The bright, pink, 50s inspired store is amass with an array of beautiful products with wonderful nam ...

In fashion we are always looking forward to the next season – in fact next month I will be off to the shows to look for next summer’s collection! (seems crazy doesn’t it when we have only just got our summer of 2008?!) Anyway, here at Frock we can’t wait for the Autumn styles to arrive. I have discovered three new labels for the new season and there are of course our old favourites.
I’m so pleased to be welcoming one of my ...

A white wedding! ... and that's just the guests! |

Corinne’s blog this week got me thinking…her choice of frock for Sophs’ nuptials would be seen by some to be a big no-no in terms of wedding etiquette…so the burning question is ‘Is it still a faux-pas to wear white (let’s include off white and cream too) to a wedding?’
These days some traditions have gone out the window and fashions certainly have changed with a bit more of an 'anything goes' attitude. Fifteen yea ...

Frocks and Feathers….
Having braved the M1 last Friday I arrived in the picturesque, northern town of Beverly for the Yorkshire Nations Polo Cup! The polo fans were out in force, despite the rain, for Ladies’ Day and the fashions didn’t disappoint with all the glamour and pomp befitting of the polo event of the season. Ladies exchanged their hats for ball dresses for the Feather Ball later in the evening and were entertained by the young ‘Billy Elliot’ and his troop and fantastic violinists flown in especially from Dubai. Feathers adorned the tables and of course the ladies' hair!&l ...

This Thursday saw the Frock models strutting their stuff on the catwalk, show-casing of the summer collection at the celebration of Frock’s 1st birthday. Toni & Guy Farnham created beautiful hairstyles for the show and Benefit cosmetics came to help style the models. All of us in the Frock office are incredibly excited as Benefit are opening one of their gorgeous boutiques in Farnham later this summer!
The show opened with the butt ...

The new summer collection from Fever...online soon! |

Surely we must be in for some sun soon! And on the pretext of that we at Frock are thinking about the imminent summer 'season'. Corinne is dutifully planning her trip to Ladies' Day at Royal Ascot which involves quizzing me on what is coming in over the next few months in order to find her perfect frock! Luckily for Corinne and for all our customers, I have bought from several brands for this summer which deliver thoughout the season, so we have new dresses arriving all the time. Fever, one of our wonderful British labels has a stunning collection in juicy bright colours. It is coming in any day now so do keep an eye out. I think Corinne has pre-ordered her 'Loire' dress in green seen recently on Kara Tointon (the lovely Dawn in Eastenders)...no doubt she will cause DB to have a Fever in this pretty little number!
