Hiya, and first of all, a massive SQUEE as I think we’re supposed to say on a blog!

Camelot 2
By Corinne on 13/11/2008
Well just a quickie, but I’m literally under the spell of a magician – now who isn’t LOVING Merlin on a Saturday night recently? I love the fact that the costumes are all ever-so contemporary – and quite frankly, ANYTHING with a fairy-tale castle gets the thumbs-up in my book!(even if it appears to be set in a picnic area in Norfolk!)

Now the prize for best dressed girly in the show has to go to Morgana (le Fay) step-daughter of Stern King Uther. She wears her blue hooded tops very well, and seems to wearing tulle underskirts as she sweeps around the castle, trying to beguile dishy Prince Arthur with her bouncing chestnut curls.

Camelot 1
By Corinne on 05/11/2008
Well I’m sure I’m not the only one who stayed up to see in the American Elections last night – DB, Portia (who had come to stay) and I did it in style – several jugs of Long Island Iced Tea for us girls, Beer for DB and lots of scrumptious bowls of popcorn!! I had to draw the line as dressing up as cheerleaders – I think had Portia and I let rip the neighbours may have complained!!!

Now whenever I think about the White House, I always think about the era known as Camelot – the time of Jacqueline Kennedy’s exceptional, fashionable elegance – and as you all know, one of my favourite periods, and also incredibly on-trend again at the moment. Sculptured, classic pieces with more prog ...

A frock for the fall…or an Indian summer!
By Corinne on 27/10/2008
It doesn’t seem real now with the rain beating down but the day of the Frock autumn fashion show was beautiful and bright; reminiscent of a perfect Indian summer! The fact that it coincided with Carol’s birthday may have been a factor in the wonderful weather though! With the models bejewelled with bindis and the halls decked with peacock feathers and flowers in stunning shades of magenta and orange it was a perfect setting for the fall catwalk!

My gorgeous friend Sally-Ann and her team from Toni & Guy were on ...

Frocks this month 3, coats 1
By Corinne on 20/10/2008
One of my fave things about living in London is that there is ALWAYS something to do on a Sunday. More often than not it's my favourite museum of all time, the Victoria and Albert in South Kensington. Not only that but they have two fashion exhibitions on at the mo - absolute heaven! I popped along with DB last Sunday... one was about Fashion and Sport - lots of incredible manufacturing using jersey - a bit like some of our danish designers are wont to do - literally masses of trainers, (heaven for DB) and lots of mad re-interpretations of classic styles in sporty fabrics! When we went there it was choca - with lots of different people!

The big exhibition at the moment is Cold War Modern - which sounds like it's going to be all ...

Stick to your staples and survive the credit crunch!
By Corinne on 24/09/2008
As we are being told, the credit crunch is continuing to extend its clutches and so we all have to shop a little bit more wisely and be a little bit savvier.

Rae and I were having a discussion (over Waitrose’s yummy homemade carrot and pineapple muffins) on how to put together a fabulous Autumn wardrobe as economically as possible but with as much style and flair as one can muster (and believe me I can muster a considerable amount). Staple garments feature extensively in my autumn wardrobe, but staples don’t have to mean basics…

A Fashion House with a difference…
By Corinne on 01/09/2008
Well, what a wait for a blog. I'm sorry - it's just what with the WEATHER, I've found more to do inside - and I've found some stunning things to see.

Rae and I went to see The House of Victor and Rolf at the Barbican the other Sunday. I love getting lost in the Barbican - lots of fab modern architecture - and turn a corner and you find a botanical garden - or a library - or a lovely bar! We had planned to have a drink by the fountain, but nature intervened, and we went straight into what I have to say was one of the best exhibitions I've been to in a very long time.

Going gothic with Gok!
By Corinne on 17/08/2008

Jo from Woking emailed me. She is a big fan of Gok Wan’s Fashion Fix on Channel 4. In last week’s episode (the last in the series) we got a preview of the autumn trends, which we at Frock have been getting excited about since the stock started coming in last month! One of the key looks that Jo picked up from the programme was ‘Gothic’ but she is concerned about going too far and looking like Marilyn Manson!

Well Jo, help is at hand and here at Frock we have some gorgeous styles and not a skull in sight! Lace is a plenty this season and my favourite piece is this gorgeous bow trim frock with a pretty embellished waistband; contrasting lining gives it a modern feel. &l ...

Sling out your stuffy suits!
By Corinne on 22/07/2008
Now's here's a topic for the Frock Forum! (or me, Rae and Carol in the Princess Royal of a Friday lunch time!)

Should we dress up in the office? We're not the best folk (:-)) to ask, as we never do anything but! There are always new styles to tempt us, deliveries to QC, evening outfits to buy - but what about you girls not in the rag trade?

I've got loads of friends who work in offices and a lot of them feel kinda-shy about dressing up - b ...

Frocks 8, Shoes 5 (but one pair was a present!) Madeiran Storm Petrels 0
By Corinne on 13/07/2008
Goodness me! I've been back a few weeks now, and I've not done a proper blog! That said Rachel said I might of well have not bothered as I've spent SO much time on the phone since I've been back!

Well remember when I said that I wasn't going to be wearing my maxi dress much in the Scilly Isles? Well by day two, it was blisteringly hot, so I went down to the dear little internet café in Hughstown on St Mary's and actually ordered one from Frock! It's SO amazing - the sands are white, the sea is that lovely light-aqua shade, and yet it is the UK! - All good things like cream teas and red phone boxes are in abundance!

Birthday Butterflies!
By Corinne on 18/06/2008
When I used to work in the gallery (over a year ago now!) I always used to book my birthday off - you know, it's just such an absolute nightmare if you have a dull day at work on the best day of the year (June 5th!). This year and last have been a complete, absolute revelation, thanks to the girls in the Frock office.

First of all the weather was stunning, wasn't it? DB (Dearly Beloved for you newbies!) did my bucks fizz-and-smoked-salmon-and-scrambled-eggs-in-bed and PRESENTS as usual and I lolled into work a little bit late - well that day it was allowed! Now in a boring old office you might have a cake at half past 4. Not at Frock! Rae and Carol had got together a WHOLE table ...
