In fashion we are always looking forward to the next season – in fact next month I will be off to the shows to look for next summer’s collection! (seems crazy doesn’t it when we have only just got our summer of 2008?!) Anyway, here at Frock we can’t wait for the Autumn styles to arrive. I have discovered three new labels for the new season and there are of course our old favourites.
I’m so pleased to be welcoming one of my all-time gurus on board. Margit Brandt started designing in Copenhagen in the swinging sixties; her designs quickly became sought after worldwide and were stocked in some of the hippest boutiques across Europe. As the mark of a true designer of classics, Brandt’s designs have become timeless and luckily for Frock and for all of you, she was persuaded to re-release some of her winning styles from the sixties, seventies and eighties. Pieces are limited in number, and with her wonderful use of fabric and shape makes Margit’s collection is very much at home in the Frock oeuvre. Our favourites are a silk peacock print 70s style dress with plaited bodice and a silk satin pleated dress in a gorgeous duck egg blue.
As for those old favourites, Gestuz have some fantastic pieces…oversized cardigans, military style wool coats and don’t forget Rene Derhy frocks – pretty devoré dresses, laces and satins…
Enjoy the rest of the summer but don’t forget, there’s lots to look forward to this Autumn!
