Jo from Woking emailed me. She is a big fan of Gok Wan’s Fashion Fix on Channel 4. In last week’s episode (the last in the series) we got a preview of the autumn trends, which we at Frock have been getting excited about since the stock started coming in last month! One of the key looks that Jo picked up from the programme was ‘Gothic’ but she is concerned about going too far and looking like Marilyn Manson!

Well Jo, help is at hand and here at Frock we have some gorgeous styles and not a skull in sight! Lace is a plenty this season and my favourite piece is this gorgeous bow trim frock with a pretty embellished waistband; contrasting lining gives it a modern feel. 

And so to velvet - if full on crushed velvet is a bit much for your - we have some lovely styles in devoré (where a special burnout technique is used to make a pattern on silk velvet fabric). This pretty dress comes in this season’s perfect purple!

So to accessorise your outfit I suggest lots of black beads, there are some great ones on the highstreet. Black opaque tights are always a great look and team with dominatrix heels or the fashionable high heeled gladiator sandal. To top off your outfit Jo, why not try this gorgeous embroidered, ruched coat in a light corduroy fabric with stunning lime green lining?
